Building SampleSync

SampleSync is a QR-based sample tracking tool for material producers. You put a passport on every physical sample, and it tells you who scanned it, when, and how often. The goal is to turn silent sample distribution into a follow-up signal.

Right now: 3 producers on the platform, 10,000+ scans tracked. The signal works. I'm focused on making it easier to explain and buy.

• Speccing a public scan map — anonymised to city level, showing where SampleSync samples get engaged globally
• Working with Plasticiet on their next sample run ahead of summer trade shows
• Writing on Substack: material industry, building in public, Rotterdam observations

Where I work

Mostly from De Kroon in Rotterdam. Occasionally from Eindhoven and Amsterdam when I'm meeting producers.

Reading

Mostly white papers on material specification workflows in architecture and interior design. Occasionally something that has nothing to do with samples at all.
